Frasers Property to redevelop Yishun 10 into mixed-use project with 110 residences, launch set for mid-2027
Yishun 10, a retail property development around Yishun Central, will be redeveloped into a mixed-use property with non commercial and retail components that will release in mid-2027. It will certainly be the very first household release in Yishun Central in over a decade, said owner and property developer Frasers Property in a Sept 2 launch.
Situated next to Yishun MRT Station and Yishun Integrated Transport Hub, the development will also be connected to neighbouring mall Northpoint City via the occurring below ground pedestrian network.
Operations at Yishun 10 are projected to cease on March 2, 2027, to give way for the new advancement.
Slated for completion in 2031, the 99-year leasehold property development will include about 110 non commercial units and a retail podium at street level. Occupying a site location of 39,125 sq ft, it is going to have an overall gross floor area of 117,376 sq ft.
The group also announced the release of “Yishun 10 Memories”, an effort to document the structure’s area in the neighborhood.
Last year, Frasers Property settled its control in Yishun 10, acquiring the Golden Village cineplex from Hong Kong movie production firm Orange Sky Golden Harvest Entertainment for $48 million, and the 10 strata lots from FCT for $34.5 million.
“Via Yishun 10 Memories, we invite the neighborhood to share their stories, memories and experiences, as we start the upcoming chapter of the Yishun Central site with a brand-new mixed-use development that supports evolving lifestyle needs and aspirations,” claimed Soon.
Yishun 10 opened up in 1992 as Singapore’s first cinema multiplex. The project houses a 1,477-seat Golden Town cineplex, together with 10 ground-floor strata retail units and a basement carpark. It lies alongside Northpoint City, which is owned by Frasers Centrepoint Trust (FCT).
“Yishun 10 carries a special location in the hearts of several Singaporeans that grew up in its immediate neighborhood,” said Soon Su Lin, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Property Singapore.
Placemaking consultant Studio Lapis will most likely lead the project, which will also determine possibilities to include components from Yishun 10 in the new project.
