UK-based developer London Square has launched its newest non commercial property development, County Hall Kingston, within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in South-West London, according to an Oct 14 launch.

The development incorporates the repair of the historic County Hall building with 3 newly built apartment blocks, providing a total of 264 exclusive residences in a mix of studios and one- to three-bedroom units. Future homeowners will most likely have connectivity to facilities under the “1893 Club”. Specified after the year in which the structure was at first built, the club comprises a co-working space, a pilates studio equipped with reformer makers, and personal eating and cinema-style rooms. A 24-hour concierge service will also be available for citizens.

Several functions of the first heritage structure have been kept, including former council rooms such as the chairman’s office and the grand courtroom. According to London Square, the latter has shown in various tv productions, including Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Call the Midwife, and Downton Abbey.

The refurbished heritage property will be divided within 6 sections, each consisting of a compilation of condos. Meanwhile, the three newly constructed buildings– Ebbstone House, Riverton House and Henmere House– will offer apartment or condos with distinct design specs and formats. Each residence will include a personal balcony or patio.

Made by architecture firm Rofie Judd, the project combines heritage and modern layout. The assignment reopens a formerly closed-off area, offering new pedestrian walkways and a public landscaped yard.

Tim Gawthorn, team sales and marketing director at London Square, expects the project to gather interest from both buyers looking for a London property and financiers looking for extended value. “Set in one of Greater London’s most desirable places– with riverside strolls, open green spaces, superior schools and universities, superior amenities and excellent transportation links– County Hall Kingston will certainly exemplify the quality and attention to detail for which London Square is known,” he adds.

Found within walking range of Kingston and Surbiton Rail Stations, the property stands simply half an hour from Central London. It is also inside a 10-minute walk to a number of schools, such as Kingston University, Kingston College and Kingston School of Art.
